Training for brain-based education and literacy

The aim of the training is to create solid pedagogical foundations through applied neuroscience,
in order to meet new cultural requirements in a way that ensures benefits for everyone,
from the highly gifted unto those in need of support.

Different modules enable teachers, educators, parents, grandparents, .... to get started right away.

The entire training material, including the tests, is available in many languages, see at materials.
At the modules you find certified instructors per country.
In Germany all modules are offerd in English, French and German, also as residential  courses.

The training provides:
- Clear understanding of what the brain needs in order to learn as sustainably, naturally, and effectively as possible.
- Acquisition of practical skills to support balanced child development, reading and writing.
- Neurodidactic * manual and videos, as well as materials for different age groups.

Each module concludes by test and internship and with the European ECVET certificate.
Modules A and B can be completed either as one-week residential course or as correspondence course.
Module C is residential. It is aimed at creative people (poets, writers and musicians, as well as film or sound engineers, performers, programmers and designers).
The venue is the site of a former high school at the countryside in the Lusatian nature reserves.

To be considered for bursary, candidates will be of legal age and sends a letter of motivation with CV and references.

3 MODULES

In keeping with your goals, wishes and prerequisites, we will provide you with an individual selection of training modules.
Please, tell us tell us  about your experiences and what you are looking for.

The 3 qualifications ca be attained at different levels:

QUALIFICATIONS:
1 Coach for Brain-Based LITERACY
2 Consultant for Brain-Based EDUCATION
3 Designer of Brain-Based TEACHING AIDS

1 and 2 are open to everyone. 3 addresses creatives, such as film technicians, sound engineers, performers, programmers, designers, poets / writers, musicians.
The 3 qualifications ca be attained at different levels:

BRAIN-BASED LITERACY

Module 1.1 Assistant (also possible for minors)
The participants are enabled to assist learners with exercises, e.g. in classrooms or as an au-pair or babysitter.

Module 1.2 Coach
The practical competence of 1.1 is complemented in module 1.2 by a clear understanding of what the brain needs for literacy. The participants are able to teach groups autonomously.

Module 1.3 Instructor
Based on 1.1 + 1.2, participants are enabled in module 1.3 to train people in these two modules

BRAIN-BASED EDUCATION

Module 2.1 Consultant
The participants gain a comprehensive insight into the functions of the brain and the conditions they need for their work.

Module 2.2 Instructor
Based on 2.1, the qualification is acquired to train participants of module 2.1.

BRAIN-BASED TEACHING AIDS

Module 3.1 Designer
Participants gain detailed understanding of the interaction between sensory impressions and brain development. From the beginning this is combined with exercises.

Module 3.2 Instructor
Building on the practical competences of the modules 1 and the theoretical knowledge of modules 2, participants acquire during a two-month internship the competences to train creatives in module 3.1.

The modules 1 and 2 can be completed as one-week on-campus courses as well as correspondence courses.
The modules 3 are on-campus courses.

Scholarships are possible

This certification enables the graduate to teach the alphabet and handwriting by brain-based approach,
using storytelling to enable children to learn letters in real word terms rather than as abstract shapes.

The graduate has
- a clear understanding of the neurological processes of learning and retaining information.
- the ability to apply this knowledge to literacy tuition.

This certification enables the graduate
- to provide methodical advice in terms of brain-based education.
- to design lessons in a brain-based way.

The training includes:

This certification enables the graduate to create brain-based educational materials.
The graduate has a clear understanding of the physiological impact artistic means have on the learning functions of the brain.

Materials developed include:
Alphabet story
Poster of the Alphabet Story
Poster for hand and print writing
Alphabet game cards
Coloring in book
Exercise book
Toolbox for creative writing

This material and approach enables the brain to store the alphabet in the form of contextual and emotional experiences, haptic fine-motor training, as well as visual and auditory stimuli by directly experienced meaningfulness. This results in tightly linked neuronal networks that work sustainably in a focused way.

The mile stones :
- Steps of personal development are experienced along the story line.
- The letters are spontaneously internalized as events of these developmental steps.
- Useful sentences remain in the ear as tools for social competence.
- Speech is further developed in role-play and musical activities.
- Creating images together teaches reflection and interaction within the group.
- The hand feels confidence from the first stroke by the momentum of the new “In-Place Writing Exercises”.
- Inspiration for creative writing springs from the joy for the sound of speech, by which initially we learned to speak.
